Celebration of Strings
​June 27-28, 2026
Location: Calvary Lutheran Church: 5311 Sheridan Lake Rd., Rapid City, SD 57702

$10 registration cost will be collected by the BH Chamber Society at the first rehearsal
 
A great opportunity for area string students of all ages and levels to rehearse and perform with Maya Anjali Buchanan and Michael Hill. 
The event is a day of workshops/rehearsals on June 27 with a concert on Sunday, June 28.

We also invite parents and students to the college/career development discussion. We are here to help you with our connections to major colleges and festivals throughout the U.S.
 
June 27, Saturday
(PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND)
 
12:00-12:15 Practice Routine: daily warm-up, technique exercises. Bring your instruments and participate. Led by Maya Buchanan including take home literature for all string instruments
 
12:15 Rehearsal: Multi-level orchestra: all ages

2:00 Break
 
2:20 Audition/Performance Preparation and All-State audition material review
    Literature by Dr. Don Greene and other current audition methods
 
3:00 Rehearsal: Multi-level orchestra: all ages
Music: TBA

4:00 done
    
June 28, Sunday: Concert dress, all black
1:00-2:30 rehearsal and sound check for all students in program order
